Брак и родне улоге у романима Излет на пучину и Госпођа Даловеј, Вирџиније Вулф

Abstract

У овој докторској дисертацији анализиран je део књижевног опуса британске књижевнице Вирџиније Вулф, који се састоји, условно речено, из два романа и неколико кратких прича. У најширем смислу, дисертација се бави истраживањем представа рода и теме брака у прозном стваралаштву Вирџиније Вулф. Овим радом обухваћена је првенствено анализа књижевног опуса Вирџиније Вулф, док су есеји и остала документарна литература, ауторкини дневници и писма, коришћени као помоћна средства. У фокусу истраживања налазе се теме и ликови романа Излет на пучину (1915) и Госпођа Даловеј (1925), кратких прича из постхумно састављене и објављене збирке Забаве код госпође Даловеј (Mrs Dalloway’s Party), као и постхумно сабраног и објављеног рукописа под насловом Мелимброзија (Melymbrosia), док два есеја Сопствена соба (1929) и Три гвинеје (1938) у овом раду служе, пре свега, као теоријски оквир за приказивање аутор- киног феминистичког критичког става. Сва дела која ће критичком анализом бити обухваћена у овој дисертацији повезују две заједничке теме – род и брак...

This doctoral dissertation is dedicated to the analysis of woks of fiction written by Virginia Woolf, consisting of, narrowly speaking, two novels and a couple of short stories. Broadly speaking, the dissertation is dedicated to the research into the topic of marriage and representations of gender in her prose. The dissertation focuses on the topics and characters Virginia Woolf created in the manuscript for her first novel, posthumously published and edited by Louise DeSalvo under the title Melymbrosia (1982), which the author decided to publish as The Voyage Out (1915), and continued to explore further in the upcoming series of short stories, and the celebrated Mrs Dalloway (1925). Close critical attention shall be given to two stories from the posthumously published collection, Mrs Dalloway’s Party (1973) – “Mrs Dalloway in Bond Street” and “A New Dress”. The two essays this author is also well- -known for, A Room of One’s Own (1929) and Three Guineas (1938), shall be used as the frame of theoretical references, developed by Virginia Woolf as a feminist, a sharp cultural and an acclaimed literary critic.
