Kao što je navedeno u naslovu ove disertacije, predmet naučnog istraživanja jeste prisustvo muzike i njena uloga u odabranim delima britanskog pisca, jednog od najznačajnijih ostrvskih, evropskih i svetskih umetnika današnjice. Prvi deo naslova nagoveštava hipotezu koja se provlači i detaljno ispituje u istraživačkom korpusu korišćenom za pisanje disertacije: da li i u kojoj meri Makjuan koristi muziku da bi predstavio epohu, prošlu ili sadašnju, generaciju odreĎenog doba, njenu jedinstvenost i njenu raznolikost u sazvučju vremena u kojem živi i njene devijacije i koliko je u tome uspešan...

As stated in the title of the dissertation, the subject of the scientific research is the presence of music and its role in the selected works of the British novelist, one of the most influential island, European and world artists of today. The first part of the title suggests the hypothesis that permeates and is thoroughly investigated in the research corpus used for writing this dissertation: whether and to what extend McEwan uses music to represent an epoch, whether past or present, the generation of certain age, its uniqueness and its diversity in the euphony of the time in which it resides and its deviations and to what extend he succeeded in it...
