As the most influential social factor in one’s upbringing and education, school plays an important role in preventing undesirable students’ behaviour. Considering the importance and meaning of the pedagogical work in school, fulfilling the preventative role of school can be understood as providing various levels and forms of support to children in their work and development. In order to prevent the early onset and spreading of inappropriate behaviour in students, it is very important that school should take a preventative and integrative role by offering activities to students, teachers, parents, and other relevant subjects in the school settings, while taking into consideration a wide spectrum of their needs, as well as encouraging their active involvement within the pedagogical and educational process. In addition to a regular academic program, the school setting should incorporate specific measures and activities, the primary goal of which is the prevention of students’ undesirable ...behaviour . Numerous studies have confirmed that schools that have implemented preventative measures and programs have significantly contributed to the prevention of the onset and development of inappropriate behaviour of their students. To support the thesis of this work, a research with the main goal of evaluating the effectiveness of the preventative role of school in the current school settings has been carried out. This goal has been achieved by analyzing regulatory and by-law documents that are applied to prevention in the field of education, analyzing program documents developed at the school level, and surveying opinions and attitudes of teachers towards the subject of the role schools are currently playing in the prevention of the undesirable behavior of students. Evaluating the results of this research, it can be concluded that integrated activities that will prevent the inappropriate behavior of students have not been sufficiently represented in the existing school practice. Research has revealed that students and parents are not sufficiently involved either in the planning or the implementation phase of preventative measures and activities, as well as that the implemented activities do not address a variety of students’ needs. Furthermore, surveyed teachers pointed out that one of the main issues in implementing preventative measures are disinterest and disengagement of parents and teachers, as well as the operating hours and spatial arrangements in which schools operate. The key recommendations for improving the role of school in the prevention of the undesirable students’ behaviour are as follows: informing and educating students, teachers, and parents about the importance of the prevention of the undesirable behavior of students as well as its challenges; active engagement, integration, and coordination of activities which will include all relevant participants in school work involved in the planning and realization of preventative measures and activities; the development of a support system for students with behavioural issues, as well as other categories of students
