Correlation of textboox and curricula in teaching foreign languages in elementary schools of Serbia

dc.description.abstractPredmet ovog rada je meĎusobni odnos izmeĎu zvaničnih programa i odgovarajućih udţbenika u nastavi stranih jezika. Koncept programa razloţen je na četiri osnovne komponente: ciljeve, sadrţaje, metodološka uputstva i naznake o evaluaciji. U udţbeniku su izdvojene linearne komponente (uvodni, središnji i završni deo i rubrike u nastavnom segmentu) i nelinearno rasporeĎene komponente (tekstovi, nastavne aktivnosti, ilustracije i aparatura orijentacije). Iste strukturno-funkcionalne komponente razmotrene su i u vezi sa radnom sveskom, zvučnim materijalom i priručnikom za nastavnika. Hipoteze o korelaciji iskazane su na osnovu delatnosti u izradi udţbenika: u selekciji graĎe pretpostavljen je visok stepen usaglašenosti, ali ne i potpuna podudarnost sa programskim sadrţajima; u gradaciji je nagovešten transverzalni odnos, što znači da u nastavnu celinu ulaze elementi iz više tipova programskih sadrţaja; u egzemplifikaciji je takoĎe predviĎen nizak stepen usaglašenosti, odnosno raznovrsna opredeljenja pri izboru ili izradi udţbeničkih tekstova; u didaktizaciji, koja obuhvata izradu veţbanja i odreĎivanje faza rada, pretpostavljena je načelna usaglašenost sa naznakama iz programa, ali ne i linearna korelacija. Provera pretpostavki izvršena je kvalitativnom analizom korpusa, koji čine programi i udţbenici za strane jezike izučavane u osnovnim školama u Srbiji u poslednje dve decenije. Rezultati analize ukazuju na činjenicu da je u nastavi stranih jezika korelacija udţbenika i programa specifična u odnosu na druge nastavne predmete, iz čega proističe potreba da se primene posebni kriterijumi za izradu i analizu udţbenika, kao i za planiranje i realizaciju nastave.sr
dc.description.abstractThe topic of this work is the relationship between official curricula in teaching foreign languages and corresponding textbooks. A curriculum is segmented into four basic components: objectives, contents, methodological instructions and evaluation guidelines. A textbook is broken down into linear components (introduction, middle and closing section, and teaching segments) and non-linearly distributed components (texts, learning activities, illustrations and orientation tools). The same structural and functional components were considered in relation to workbooks, audio materials and teaching manuals. The hypothesis on correlation stems from the work on textbooks preparation: in materials selection, a high degree of conformity but not complete congruence with curriculum contents is presumed; in gradation, transversal relationship is emphasized, meaning that various types of curriculum contents become a part of a teaching unit; in exemplification, low degree of conformity, i.e., diverse choices in selection and preparation of textbooks materials, is also presumed; in didactisation, which encompasses preparation of exercises and determination of work phases, conformity in principle, but not linear correlation, with curriculum guidelines is presumed. Verification of the presumptions was accomplished through qualitative analysis of corpus of curricula and textbooks for teaching foreign languages in elementary schools in Serbia over the past two decades. The analysis shows that in teaching foreign languages, the correlation between textbooks and curricula is different in comparison to other courses, thus resulting in the need to apply specific criteria for the preparation and analysis of textbooks, as well as for planning and realization of teaching.en
