Rumuni neoprotestanti u Vojvodini : između religijskog i etničkog identiteta

Abstract

Doktorska disertacija „Rumuni neoprotestanti u Vojvodini: između religijskog i etničkog identiteta“ kao osnovni predmet istraživanja ima Rumune u Vojvodini, pripadnike nazarenske, baptističke, adventističke i pentekostalne zajednice. U doktorskoj disertaciji analizira se odnos između religijskog i etničkog identiteta u nadnacionalnim neoprotestantskim zajednicama kojima pripadaju Rumuni. Pored istorijskog pregleda protestantizma, nastanka i razvoja neoprotestantskih zajednica, sa posebnim akcentom na prostor današnje Vojvodine, pažnja je posvećena i dogmatskim karakteristikama neoprotestanata. Pripadnici rumunske etničke zajednice u Vojvodini, iako većinom pripadaju Rumunskoj pravoslavnoj crkvi, krajem 19. veka počinju da prelaze i u druge konfesionalne zajednice – grko-katoličku, a zatim i u brojne neoprotestantske. Položaj Rumuna neoprotestanata posmatran je u okviru koncepta dvostrukih manjina, etničkih i verskih, koji je razvijen u ovom radu sa ciljem ukazivanja na složene oblike identiteta pripadnika manjinskih zajednica. Polazeći od hipoteze da Rumuni neoprotestanti religijski identitet smatraju važnijim od etničkog, ukazuje se na značaj religijskog identiteta i njegovu ulogu u kontruisanju kolektivnog identiteta zajednice. Doktorska disertacija zasniva se na kvalitativno orijentisanom empirijskom istraživanju rumunskih neoprotestantskih zajednica na prostoru srednjeg i južnog Banata. U analizi intervjua prikupljenih tokom terenskog istraživanja primenjen je metod diskurs analize i analize narativa, izdvajanjem dominantnih diskursa u konstruisanju „novog identiteta“ neoprotestantskih vernika i ukazivanjem na ulogu narativa o konverziji. Posebna pažnja posvećena je odnosu multikulturalizma, religijskog pluralizma i politika identiteta u Vojvodini, kako bi se ukazalo na položaj manjinskih verskih zajednica, odnosno, u slučaju Rumuna neoprotestanata, dvostrukih manjina u Vojvodini.

The doctoral dissertation “Neo-Protestant Romanians in Vojvodina: between religious and ethnic identity” has as its main topic of research the Romanians in Vojvodina who are members of the Nazarene, Baptist, Adventist and Pentecostal communities. The dissertation examines the relationship between religious and ethnic identity in the supranational Neo-Protestant communities the Romanians belong to. In addition to a historical overview of Protestantism, the emergence and development of Neo-Protestant communities, with a special emphasis on the territory of Vojvodina, attention was also paid to the dogmatic characteristics of the Neo-Protestants. Although the majority of Romanians in Vojvodina belong to the Romanian Orthodox Church, at the end of the 19th century they began to adopt new religions, choosing, for the beginning, the Greek-Catholic, and then several Neo-Protestant denominations. The situation of the Neo-Protestant Romanians was analyzed within the frame of the concept double minorities (ethnic and religious), which was developed in this study with the aim of addressing the complex forms of identity of the members of minority communities. Starting from the assumption that Neo-Protestant Romanians consider religious identity to be more important than ethnic identity, the author points out to the importance of religious identity and its role in constructing the collective identity of the community. The doctoral dissertation is based on qualitative oriented empirical research of Neo-Protestant Romanian communities on the territory of central and southern Banat. The interviews recorded during field research were analyzes using discourse analysis and narrative analysis methods; namely, the dominant discourse which constructs a “new identity” of the Neo-Protestant believer was demarcates and the role of narrative in religious conversion was considered. Special attention was paid to the relation between multiculturalism, religious pluralism and politics of identity in Vojvodina, in order to illustrate the status of minority religious communities or, in the case of Neo-Protestant Romanians, of double minorities in Vojvodina.
