dc.description.abstractUvod: Prednji deo gornje vilice je regija u kojoj se izvode brojne hirurške intervencije u oralnoj i maksilofacijalnoj hirurgiji. Za uspešno izvođenje ovih intervencija potrebno je poznavati morfološke i morfometrijske karakteristike nazopalatinalnog (NPC) i akcesornih kanala (ACs), kao dve najznačajnije neurovaskularne strukture pomenute regije. Prisustvo ACs se često zanemaruje ili pogrešno dijagnostikuje i povreda ovih struktura pri ugradnji implantata može da izazove različite komplikacije. Primenom kompjuterizovane tomografije konusnog zraka (Cone Beam Computed Tomography - CBCT) omogućen je bolji uvid u ove anatomske strukture. Cilj: Cilj ove studije je ispitivanje morfoloških i morfometrijskih karakteristika ACs i povezanosti tipa NPC sa lokalizacijom istih, u predelu gornjih centralnih sekutića. Materijal i metode: Retrospektivna, kvantitativna studija je uključila 130 CBCT snimaka. Analiza snimaka je podrazumevala ispitivanje ACs na sagitalnom, koronalnom i aksijalnom preseku, kao i određivanje tipa NPC na sagitalnom preseku. Rezultati: Morfometrijske karakteristike ACs povezane su sa tipom NPC. Tip NPC ima najznačajniji uticaj na udaljenost između AC i NPC, kao i na udaljenost između AC i spoljašnjeg aspekta bukalne kortikalne kosti, u donjim delovima alveolarnog grebena. Zaključak: Predloženi metodološki pristup analizi CBCT snimaka prednjeg dela gornje vilice omogućava precizne informacije koje mogu biti od koristi u planiranju hirurških intervencija kod kojih se očekuje ugrožavanje pomenutih struktura.sr
dc.description.abstractIntroduction: The anterior maxilla is the region where numerous surgical interventions are performed in oral and maxillofacial surgery. For successful performance of these interventions, it is necessary to know morphological and morphometric characteristics of the nasopalatine (NPC) and accessory canals (ACs), as the two most important neurovascular structures of the mentioned region. The presence of ACs is often neglected or misdiagnosed, and the damage of these structures during the implant placement may cause various complications. Using Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) is enabled better visualization of these anatomical structures. Aim: This study aimed to evaluate principal morphological and morphometric characteristics of ACs, as well as to analyze the relationship with NPC type, in the region of the maxillary central incisors. Material and methods: Retrospective quantitative study included 130 CBCT images. The analyses included the examination of ACs on the sagittal, coronal and axial view, as well as the evaluation of NPC type on the sagittal view. Results: The morphometric characteristics of ACs were significantly influenced by NPC type. NPC type had the strongest impact on the distance between the NPC and AC, as well as on the distance between the AC and the facial aspect of buccal bone wall, in inferior parts of the alveolar ridge. Conclusion: The proposed methodological approach for CBCT images analysis of anterior maxillary region provides precise information which might be useful in planning surgical interventions where the mentioned structures could be compromised.en
