dc.description.abstract | Uloga vitamina D u patogenezi osteoartritisa (OA) još uvek nije precizno definisana. OA je često udružen sa nedostatkom vitamina D, koji je rasprostranjen širom sveta. Nedostatak vitamina D je povezan sa hroničnim zapaljenjem. Noviji dokazi sugerišu da vitamin D kao imunomodulatorni i antiinflamatorni faktor, ali i kao značajan antioksidans može da smanji inflamaciju i oksidacioni stres kod OA bolesnika. Cilj ove studija je da ispita uticaj suplementacije 4000 i.j. vitamina D nakon 3 meseca na imunopatogenezu, oksidacioni stres, kliničke manifestacije primarnog OA kolena. U istraživanje su uključeni bolesnici sa primarnim OA kolena iz UKC Kragujevac. Eksperimentalna grupa je bila na suplementaciji vitminom D, dok je kontrolna grupa ispitanika bila bez suplemetacije. Funkcionalno testiranje (WOMAC upitnik, VAS skala), biohemijski parametri, koncentracija citokina (IL1β, TNF-α, IL-17, IL-23, IL-33, Gal-3, IL-4, IL-13), parametara oksidacionog stresa (TBARS, NO2, O2 - , H2O2, SOD, CAT, GSH) mereni su na početku istraživanja i posle 3 meseca. Tromesečna suplementacija vitaminom D kod pacijenata sa OA kolena imala je pozitivan efekat na kliničke manifestacije, imunopatogenezu i parametre oksidacionog stresa. Nakon suplementacije vitaminom D došlo do povećanja vrednosti IL-1β, IL-23, IL-33, SOD i CAT, a do statistički značajnog smanjenja vrednosti antiinflamatornog citokina IL-13. Naši rezultati su pokazali da suplementacija vitaminom D ima restorativni efekat na funkciju zgloba kolena, redukuje bol i ukočenost i povećava funkcionalnost kod pacijenata sa OA kolena. | sr |
dc.description.abstract | The role of vitamin D in the pathogenesis of osteoarthritis (OA) has not been precisely defined. OA is often associated with vitamin D deficiency, which is common worldwide. Vitamin D deficiency is linked with chronic inflammation. Recent evidence suggests that vitamin D as an immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory factor, but also as a significant antioxidant, can reduce inflammation and oxidative stress in OA patients. The aim of this study was to asses the effect of 4000 IU vitamin D supplementation after 3 months on immunopathogenesis, oxidative stress, clinical manifestations of primary knee OA. Patients with primary knee OA from the UKC Kragujevac, were included in the research. The experimental group was supplemented with vitamin D, while the control group was without supplementation. Functional testing (WOMAC questionnaire, VAS scale), biochemical parameters, cytokine concentration (IL-1β, TNF-α, IL-17, IL- 23, IL-33, Gal-3, IL-4, IL-13), oxidative stress parameters (TBARS, NO2, O2- , H2O2, SOD, CAT, GSH) were measured at the beginning of the study and after 3 months. Three-month vitamin D supplementation in patients with knee OA had a positive effect on clinical manifestations, immunopathogenesis and oxidative stress parameters. After supplementation with vitamin D, there was an increase in the values of IL-1β, IL-23, IL-33, SOD and CAT, and a statistically significant decrease in the value of the anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-13. Our results showed that vitamin D supplementation has a restorative effect on knee joint function, reduces pain and stiffness and increases functionality in patients with knee OA. | en |
