Abstract

The subject of the doctoral art project is the research on the politics of perception, i.e. the ways in which the specificities of human perception and cognition regulate the relationship between the subject and the world, thus opening up the possibility for their examination in the context of art. The term perceptual stratification has been employed to denote specific situations in the context of art - constructed deviations from the expected, in which we begin to turn our attention to and perceive the very processes of perception and cognition, which thus become the basis of the artistic process in the field of scene design. Through the analysis of referential artworks, the phenomenon of perceptual stratification has been investigated in the context of art and particularly scene design, in order to establish a basis for one's own artistic practice. Special attention was paid to time perception, in order to re-examine subjective time as a construct conditioned by the specifics of huma...n perception and cognition in the domain of art determined by the phenomenon of perceptual stratification. The end result is a scene design artwork in the form of a multimedia spatial intervention 3000ms.
