High-level of motor skills are a necessary prerequisite needed to successfully perform combat missions. Muscle potential is an especially important feature among members of the special forces. This research was carried out with the aim of determining both the influences on and associations between muscle potential, speed and body composition and specific fitness skills of members of the special forces. The sample of participants in the research included 74 members of the 63rd Parachute Brigade. The muscle potential was evaluated with the Squat Jump, Countermovement Jump, Bench press and Deadlift tests. Speed was evaluated with the Sprint 10 m, Sprint 20 m and Sprint 30 m tests. The specific fitness skills were evaluated with the 2min push-up test, two-minute sit-ups, the 3200m run test, and the seven-meter rope climbing test. Body composition was measured with the multi-channel bioelectric impedance, and the following parameters were measured: Total body water (kg), Body fat mass (kg), Fat free mass (kg), Skeletal muscle mass (kg) and Percent body fat (%). The appropriate statistical procedures were used to analyze the data. To determine the associations between muscle potential, body composition and specific fitness skills, a canonical correlation analysis was used. To determine the influence of muscle potential and body composition on specific fitness abilities, the multiple regression analysis was used. The research results have indicated that speed, muscle potential and body composition have a statistically significant impact on specific fitness skills.en
