Преображаји стварности у приповедној прози Бранимира Шћепановића и Данила Киша

Abstract

У раду ће бити размотрен однос између приповедних поетика Бранимира Шћепановића и Данила Киша. Најпре ће бити расветљене околности њиховог сукоба током полемике око Гробнице за Бориса Давидовича; показаћемо да тај сукоб није био ни поетичке ни политичке, већ личне природе. Суочићемо новелу „Смрт господина Голуже“ са оптужбама које је против ње изнео Киш у „Дуплом гулашу за Бранимира Шћепановића“. Задржаћемо се на смени клишеа као легитимном приповедном поступку и показаћемо начин његове примене у Кишовој причи „Славно је за отаџбину мрети“. Довешћемо у интерпретативну везу романе Пешчаник и Уста пуна земље, из перспективе њихових веза са поетиком француског новог романа. Издвојићемо поступак фокализоване нарације и размотрићемо проблеме перцепције; указаћемо на особености простора и времена које из тога происходе. Размотрићемо затим везе примењених приповедних поступака са филмом, односно употребу технике монтаже у Пешчанику и кинематографског опажања у Устима пуним земље. Основу за интегралистички приступ потражићемо у техници удвајања јунака. Упоредићемо начине приповедног третирања метафизичких тема у стваралаштву оба аутора; задржаћемо се на предестинацији и вечном враћању. Показаћемо, на примерима из Раних јада и Гробнице за Бориса Давидовича, да је њихова улога код Киша у прецизирању друштвенокритичких и политичких значења. Задржаћемо се на значају који понављања имају у Шћепановићевом опусу као и на пародији теме вечног враћања у новели „Оно друго време“. Размотрићемо однос аутора према конвенцијама фантастичке књижевности. Указаћемо да приповедни опуси Бранимира Шћепановића и Данила Киша представљају релевантне могућности српске књижевности на прелазу из модернизма у постмодернизам.

The dissertation analyzes the relationship between the narrative poetics of Branimir Šćepanović and Danilo Kiš. It will first seek to elucidate the circumstances of their conflict during the debate about Kiš’s work A Tomb for Boris Davidovich and show that the clash was neither poetical nor political in nature but rather personal. It will contrast the novella The Death of Mr. Goluza with the accusations that Kiš leveled against it in his text "A Double Goulash for Branimir Šćepanović". It will discuss the succession of clichés as a legitimate narrative device and show how it was applied in Kiš’s story "To Die for One’s Country Is Glorious." The dissertation also attempts to establish an interpretative link between the novels Hourglass and Mouth Full of Earth. It will isolate focalized narration and discuss problems of perception, while explaining the distinctive features of the geographical and chronological settings in which they emerged. It will include an analysis of the links between the narrative devices employed in these texts with filmmaking techniques – more specifically, the technique of montage in Hourglass and cinematographic perception in A Mouth Full of Earth. The basis of the integralist approach will be sought in the technique of doubling. The research will also compare the narrative treatment of metaphysical themes in the oeuvres of the two authors, focusing on predestination and unending return. Using the examples of Early Sorrows and A Tomb for Boris Davidovich, it will show that, in Kiš’s work, their role lies in specifying socio-critical and political meanings. The importance of repetitions in Šćepanović’s opus will also be discussed, as well as his parody of the eternal return theme in the novella "Another Time". The author’s relationship with the conventions of fantasy literature will also be analyzed. The dissertation will show that the narrative opuses of Branimir Šćepanović and Danilo Kiš represent two relevant possibilities in Serbian literature at the juncture between Modernism and Post- Modernism.
