Трансформација штампаних медија у Републици Србији у дигиталном добу

Abstract

Трансформација штампаних медија у дигиталном добу постала је један од највећих изазова за редакције дневне штампе широм света. Константан пад тиража и прихода штампе, истовремено јачање онлајн медија, потом развој нове културе информисања, али и појава нових медијских форми током последње деценије довели су до тога да је прилагођавање штампе новим околностима на медијском тржишту постало неминовно. У основи тог прилагођавања налази се прелазак са „print first” на „digital first” стратегију пословања, али је за ту трансформацију неопходно спровести бројне промене унутар медија. У докторској дисертацији се полази од тезе да успех трансформације штампаних медија зависи превасходно од промена у три кључна елемента унутар самих редакција. То су усвајање нових новинарских компетенција од стране новинара и уредника, потом запошљавање нових медијских професионалаца који се први пут појављују у дигиталном добу, као и реструктурирање редакција и успостављање нове организације рада која омогућава прелазак са концепта традиционалне на концепт дигиталне редакције. Утемељење за ову тврдњу проналази се и у теорији новинарства која разматра наведено питање, али и у пракси штампаних медија који су ову трансформацију већ успешно окончали или су у завршној фази те трансформације. Предмет ове докторске дисертације је истраживање трансформација штампаних медија у Републици Србији у процесу прилагођавања дигиталном добу, а то питање истраживано је на узорку који обухвата пет редакција дневних новина у Србији. То су „Политика”, „Вечерње новости”, „Блиц”, „Данас” и „Курир”. Циљ је био да се утврди обим у којем су се наведене редакције већ трансформисале, затим у којим елементима се најчешће дешавају трансформације и на који начин, као и да се утврди од којих фактора превасходно зависи да ли ће, у којој мери и до којих промена доћи.

The print media transformation in the digital age has become one of the biggest challenges for newspaper newsrooms around the world. The constant decline in circulation and print revenues, with the concurrent strengthening of online media, followed by the development of a new culture of information, but also the emergence of new media forms over the last decade have caused the inevitable adaptation of the press to new circumstances in the media market. This adaptation is based on the transition from “print first” to ”digital first” business strategy, but this transformation requires the implementation of numerous changes within the media. The doctoral dissertation starts from the thesis that the success of the print media transformation depends primarily on changes in three key elements within the newsrooms themselves. These are the adoption of new journalistic competencies by both journalists and editors, then the employment of new media professionals who appear for the first time in the digital age, as well as the restructuring of newsrooms and the establishment of a new work organization that enables the transition from the concept of traditional to the concept of digital newsroom. The grounds for this claim can be found in the theory of journalism which deals with this issue, but also in the practice of the print media, which have already successfully completed this transformation or are in the final phase of that transformation. The subject of this doctoral dissertation is the research of the print media transformation in the Republic of Serbia in the process of adapting to the digital age, and this issue was researched on a sample that includes five newspaper newsrooms in Serbia. These are “Politika”, “Večernje novosti”, “Blic”, “Danas” and “Kurir”. The aim was to determine the extent to which these newsrooms have already been transformed, then the elements where the transformation most often occurs and in what way, as well as to determine the factors defining whether the changes will occur, to what extent and what changes will occur.
