Agriculture as an economic sector has not only direct but also indirect impact on the economic development of the entire national economy. By applying appropriate measures can improve the state of agriculture, the adoption of appropriate policies harmonized with European standards.
Agriculture of the Republic Serbia should be supported by appropriate policies take advantage of the opportunity and offer quality products. The development of agriculture of the Republic Serbia should be directed towards modernizing and changing the production structure towards greater market orientation and improve the overall efficiency of the agricultural sector, using natural resources at the disposal of the national economy for agricultural development.
The agrarian policy of the Republic of Serbia in the last few years has often been subject to change and there was no continuity of measures that would lead to the desired goal. Economic measures within the agricultural policy regulates the position o...f the agricultural sector in relation to other economic areas. Also, the economic measures of agricultural policy regulates the ratio of individual branches and lines of production within the agriculture.
Following the example of the neighboring countries for Serbia it is important to adopt a single document which will be clearly specified government policy towards agriculture, but it was not Straregy which is just on paper, but a document that will clearly define and implement measures will enable the implementation of necessary reforms.
