As a part of the research of solvent influence on the reactivity of organic
compounds the reaction of carboxylic acids with diazodiphenylmethane(DDM) was
chosen as a model. Rate constants for acids of various structure: cycloalken

carboxylic

t number of carbon atoms in the ring, were
determined in a wide range of protic and aprotic solvents. The influe
nce of the
moleculars structure and solvent properties on the kinetics and mechanism of the reaction
of carboxylic acids with DDM was discussed...
