Globalna energetska kriza i zaštita životne sredine uveliko su doprinijeli masovnoj upotrebi i
eksploataciji obnovljivih izvora energije, poput fotonaponskih sistema, koji ispunjavaju kriterijume
čiste energije i održivosti. Međutim, zbog prirode sunčevog zračenja i njegove varijabilnosti, upotreba
fotonaponskih sistema u elektroenergetskim mrežama postavlja nove izazove u održavanju
propisanog kvaliteta električne energije i pouzdanog i sigurnog rada elektroenergetske mreže.
proizvodnje aktivne i neaktivne snage).
fotonaponskom sistemu.
The global energy crisis and environmental protection have greatly contributed to the mass use and
exploitation of renewable energy sources, such as photovoltaic systems, which meet the criteria for
clean energy and sustainability. However, due to the nature of solar radiation and its variability, the
use of photovoltaic systems in power grids poses new challenges in maintaining the prescribed quality
of electricity and the reliable and safe operation of the power grid. Through a detailed analysis of the
impact of different level of solar irradiance on the power quality of grid-connected photovoltaic
systems, it has been indicated that low solar irradiance significantly affects the harmonic distortions
of the currents injected into the grid, and thus on the power production from photovoltaic systems
while maintaining the power factor at a low level (due to comparable production of active and reactive
power). The harmonic distortions of the injected currents depend to a large extent on ...the topology of
the inverter/converter through which they are connected to the grid, as well as on the implementation
of the control structure that regulates the operation of the converter. Also, the characteristics of the
filter circuit on the grid side of the converter for photovoltaic systems can greatly affect the harmonic
distortions of the current. For these reasons, the problem with the quality of electricity will be
pronounced with the massive use of photovoltaic systems, especially in low-voltage distribution
networks.
During the realization of the doctoral dissertation, various research methods were conducted, starting
from numerical analyses, modelling, simulations, and measuring real quantities on an existing
photovoltaic system. To analyse the impact of grid-connected photovoltaic systems on voltage and
current harmonic distortion, the collection, systematization, and detailed analysis of existing
knowledge in the field of research were carried out to understand the problems and establish
guidelines for the next phases of research. Using the MATLAB/Simulink software package, a model
of a photovoltaic system was developed, and a simulation of the system's operation was formed under
different operating conditions to investigate and better understand the impact of various factors on
the power quality at the PCC. The validation and verification of the research were carried out by
comparing the results obtained from modelling with the results obtained based on measurements on
a real photovoltaic system.
The contribution of these dissertation research lies in the detailed analysis of the impact of
photovoltaic systems on voltage and current harmonic distortion under different operating conditions,
as well as the identification of power quantities injected at the point of common coupling. New
solutions for improving the power quality as well as improving the power factor of photovoltaic
systems are also given.
