Umerena fizička aktivnost (FA) ima pozitivne zdravstvene efekte, u vidu prevencije i
smanjenja rizika od hroničnih nezaraznih bolesti, kao što su gojaznost, dijabetes,
kardiovaskularna oboljenja. Intenzivno treniranje pak uzrokuje povećano stvaranje slobodnih
radikala, što usled narušavanja strukture i funkcije biomolekula, vodi ka oštećenju mišića i
smanjenju sportskih performansi. Pored toga, intenzivna FA izaziva prolazne, ali i dugoročne
posledice po različite komponente imunskog sistema, što dalje ima negativne implikacije u
domenu infekcija gornjeg respiratornog trakta, posebno tokom zimskog perioda. Povećana
učestalost respiratornih infekcija se pre svega povezuje sa oštećenjem mukoznog imuniteta, tj.
smanjenjem apsolutne koncentracije i brzine sekrecije salivarnih IgA antitela. Aktuelne kliničke
studije sprovedene na vrhunskim sportistima ukazuju na sposobnost probiotskih sojeva da
moduliraju imunski sistem, kao i da smanje učestalost, dužinu i težinu simptoma respira...tornih
infekcija.
Cilj ove disertacije bio je da se ispita uticaj suplementacije sojem Lactobacillus
helveticus L10 na pojavu, dužinu trajanja i težinu simptoma infekcija gornjeg respiratornog
trakta tokom zimskog perioda u populaciji vrhunskih sportista. Pored toga, cilj studije je bio i
procena efekata suplementacije na odabrane markere imunskog i oksidativnog statusa, kao i
sportske performanse, telesnu kompoziciju, osnovne biohemijske parametre i psihološke
parametre.
Ispitivanje je sprovedeno kao randomizovana, dvostruko slepa, placebo-kontrolisana
klinička studija, u u skladu sa etičkim standardima Helsinške deklaracije i pravilima Etičkog
komiteta Farmaceutskog fakulteta Univerziteta u Beogradu. U studiji je učestvovalo 39
vrhunskih sportista. Eksperimentalna grupa je oralno uzimala kapsule L. helveticus Lafti® L10 u
dnevnoj dozi od 2*1010 CFU (Collony Forming Units), proizvođača Lallemand Health Solutions,
Montreal, Kanada. Kontrolna grupa je primala placebo kapsule, identične probiotskim
kapsulama po organoleptičkim osobinama.

simptoma...
Moderate physical activity (PA) exerts positive health effects, such as prevention and risk
reduction of chronic diseases like obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. Strenuos training
causes increased production of free radicals, leading to the destruction of important
biomolecules. This can result in muscle damage and impairment of athletic performance. In
addition, intensive PA causes transient and long-term perturbations of immune system, resulting
in increased incidence of upper respiratory tract illness (URTI), especially during winter. Higher
incidence of URTI in elite atheletes is primarly influenced by mucosal immunity disruption, i.e.
reduction in absolute concentration and secretion rate of salivary IgA antibodies. Clinical studies
conducted in elite athletes demonstrate the ability of probiotic strains to modulate the immune
system and consequently reduce the incidence, duration and severity of symptoms of respiratory
infections.
The aim of this study was ...to investigate the effects of Lactobacillus helveticus L10
supplementation on incidence, duration and severity of symptoms of URTI during the winter
period in elite athletes. In addition, the goal of the study was the assessment of the effects of
supplementation on selected markers of immune and oxidative status, as well as sports
performance, body composition, basic biochemical parameters and mood.
The study was conducted as a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled parallelgroups
design procedure, following the guidelines laid down in Declaration of Helsinki. The trial
was apporved by the Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Belgrade. The
study included 39 elite athletes. The experimental group received capsules L. helveticus L10 in a
daily dose of 2*1010 CFU (Collony Forming Units), by manufacturer Lallemand Health
Solutions, Montreal, Canada. The control group received placebo capsules, which were identical
to probiotic capsules in organoleptic characteristics.
