Problem of the preschool children motor development is a highly current topic at a time when modern society is faced with a very low level of physical activity, which in turn assumes the epidemiological extent. Movement is a very important factor in the proper growth and development of the organism. Through the play and physical activities preschool children learn and develop motor skills which will provide a solid basis for prospective complex motor skills mastering. A movement is an integral part of children's everyday life. Numerous studies have confirmed that the function of movement in children is not only fun and entertainment, but it also represents a powerful means of physical, mental, emotional and social development of a child. The aim of this study was to determine the effects of NTC (Nikola Tesla Centre) Programme of physical exercise on the development of preschool children motor skills. A longitudinal study was performed in state kindergartens with two parallel groups one of which applied NTC Programme for a period of 6 months, while the second group applied the usual exercise program. The sample was composed of two groups of children aged 4 to 6. Children’s motor abilities were estimated by a battery of tests BOT 2 comprising 14 subtests. On the basis of the applied statistical analyses it was found that children in the experimental group achieved significant improvement in motor skills test which confirmed the effects of the NTC Programme in physical exercise on the preschool children motor skills development. Bearing in mind the fact that for the development of motor abilities preschool children age is a sensitive period, the application of the NTC exercises system in this age could significantly improve motor skills and health status of children as well as a better sensorimotor integration and a stimulating effect on cognitive development. Such a program would improve the initial state of the physical abilities of children through the development of their motor skills to the optimum level and have a positive impact on the creation of habits of the regular physical exercising.en
