dc.description.abstract | In the time of sudden climate changes and increasing
demands for electricity production, water as a cooling
medium in the condensation systems of modern thermal
power plants is becoming decreasingly available and
increasingly expensive as a resource. Precisely for this
reason, the number of modern chemical and thermal power
plants in the world that use air-cooled condensers as part of
the condensation system is increasing. Since air-cooled
condensers use the surrounding air as the heat sink,
condensation systems of this type are extremely sensitive to
changes in the environment, both in terms of outside
temperature, and in terms of wind speed and direction, and
of course insolation. An additional problem is that changes
in the mentioned external parameters are quite difficult to
predict with certainty, which makes this type of
condensation system only conditionally reliable. All this
leaves quite a lot of room for improving the reliability and
improving the operation of air-cooled condensation systems
in modern thermal power plants, which is precisely the topic
of this doctoral dissertation. | en |
