U doktorskoj disertaciji Recepcija srpske srednjovekovne pisane
književnosti u književnoteorijskoj i književnoistorijskoj misli XX
vekaosvetlili smo spektar književnoteorijskih i književnoistorijskih
perspektiva u recepciji literature.
recepcijske kriterijume i istoriju njihovog razvoja, njihovih promena i
bismo otkrili i tanane odraze predistorije samih dela, odraze njihove
specifične poetike i vrednosti, u horizontu njihovog čitanja i vrednovanja.
Uočili smo postojanje osobene književne komunikacije, u kojoj su stvaranje
književnosti, delo i autor početna tačka, a čija drugu, jednako važnu, novim
književnosti i njihovog vrednovanja imanentne dinamike književnog teksta.
istorijska tradicija konfrontira sa sadašnjošću i tumači uz pomoć prošlosti.
Znanja do kojih smo došli tumačenjem radova književnih istoričara i
kritičara o staroj srpskoj književnosti pokušali smo da, preko estetike
recepcije, postavimo u celovit sistem razumevanja književnog stvaralaštva
srednjeg veka.
prošlosti u savremenom istorijskom i naučnom kontekstu iznova pokreće, menja,
razvija i održava njihovu recepciju, čineći ih bližim, prisutnijim,
potrebnijim.
prepoznajemo, razumemo. Razmatranje odnosa između književnog teksta i njegove
recepcije pretpostavka je kako upoznavanja prošlosti u kojoj je delo nastalo,
upoznavanja prirode samog dela, tako i otkrivanja njegove savremenosti,
postignute novim razumevanjem. Teorija recepcije predstavlja metod posmatranja
prihvatamo. Verujemo, stoga, da smo o istorijskom značaju i o specifičnim
odlikama stare srpske književnosti progovorili i posredno, metaistorijskim
tumačenjem, analizom recepcijskih modela u istorijskoj i kritičkoj misli XX
veka. Sagledavanjem metodoloških pozicija, važnijih osobina i ishoda tumačenja
stare srpske literature, pre svega u radovima Pavla Popovića, Đorđa
Trifunovića, Dimitrija Bogdanovića i Milana Kašanina, kao u osnovnom
korpusu, uspostavili smo pregled promena hermeneutičkih perspektiva u XX veku

i sliku modernog mišljenja i revalorizovanja srednjovekovne građe. Istraživanje
smo proširili književnoistorijskim, književnokritičkim, kulturološkim i
teorijskim saznanjima drugih značajnih autora, čija je misao oblikovala

In the doctoral dissertation titled Reception of Serbian Medieval Written Literature
in XX Century Literary Theoretical and Literary Historical Thought, we highlighted the
spectrum of literary theoretical and literary historical perspectives in literature reception.
Understanding of the way in which the reception of old Serbian literature took place in
XX century has enabled us to notice the specific reception criteria and the history of their
development, their changes, and overcoming. Based on H. R. Jauss’ reception theory and
the experience of contemporary study of literature, we strived to understand the
complexity of the processes taking place between the text and the reader, between the act
of writing and the act of reading, in order to reveal even the thinnest reflections of the
pre-history of the works themselves, the reflections of their specific poetics and value, in
the horizon of their reading and evaluation. We noticed the existence of a special literary
communi...cation, in which the creation of literature, the work, and the author are the
starting point, with the reception, the reader, the interpreter being the second, equally
important position constantly open to new readings. The reception is, therefore, the
experience of always new creation, evaluation, and revalidation of literature and the
recipient is a figure that actively participates in the construction of the aesthetic character
of the work. Therefore, this research is based on theories that see the presumption of
literary creativity in the reception, revealing the aspects of the reception effect inherent
in literary works, recognizing readers as literary process participants, thus forming a
special horizon of scientific knowledge about the history of literature.
Methodologically relying on the reception theory, in this dissertation we made a
critical overview of the study of medieval Serbian written literature in XX century, as in
the epoch that most completely determined our understanding of this corpus. We
discussed the development of the literary historical opinion about the old Serbian
literature from Jovan Skerlić and his indications of the need for discovering the general
features of the culture of the Middle Ages, which will reflect the conditions of the
development of the literature itself, through Milan Kašanin and his much more modern
reading of old texts, achieved by a significant reorientation of attention to the text and the
reader in the literature study plan, to the latest researchers of old literature and their
evaluation of the immanent dynamics of literary texts. We tried to show that
historiography has become the source of a particular type of the value of spiritual and
historical heritage, but also the reflection of always new tendencies to establish own
historical position on the background of the past and the attempt to confront historical
tradition with the present and interpret it with the help of the past.
Through the aesthetics of the reception, we tried to transform the knowledge we
have acquired by interpreting the work of literary historians and critics about the old
Serbian literature into a comprehensive system of understanding literary creativity of the
Middle Ages. We noted that this system of understanding is a complex intertextual,
dialogic, intersubjective process, in which the presence of literary texts from the past in
the contemporary historical and scientific context re-initiates, changes, develops and
maintains their reception, making them closer, more present, more necessary. The old
literature texts thus, in ways we read and evaluate them, tell not only about themselves
but also about our abilities to think, recognize, understand. The consideration of the
relationship between the literary text and its reception is a presumption of getting to know
the past in which the work was created, learning about the nature of the work itself, and
discovering its contemporaneity, achieved by a new understanding. The reception theory
is a method of viewing an old canon in a new way, which does not void but confirms the
fundamental values in their potential. Thanks to this, validation of the value is not only
their automatic repetition, but genuine familiarization with their character, and then
thediscovery of new values – of the texts themselves and the manners in which we accept
them. We, therefore, believe that we also spoke of the historical significance and specific
features of old Serbian literature indirectly, by the meta-historical interpretation, by the
analysis of the reception models in XX century historical and critical thought. By
examining the methodological positions, more important features and outcomes of old
Serbian literature interpretation, primarily in the works of Pavle Popović, Đorđe
Trifunović, Dimitrije Bogdanović and Milan Kašanin, as in the basic corpus, we have
established an overview of the changes in hermeneutic perspectives in XX century and
the image of modern thought and revalorization of medieval construction. We expanded
the research with literary, historical, literary, cultural and theoretical knowledge of other
important authors, whose thought formed the contemporary reception of Serbian
medieval literature: Dragutin Kostić, Vladimir Ćorović, Dragoljub Pavlović,Đorđe Sp.
Radojičić, Jovan Deretić, Radmila Marinković, Jelka Ređep, Damnjan Petrović, Ljiljana
